Il Comune di Torre Pellice, in collaborazione con il Comitato scientifico della Civica Galleria d’Arte Contemporanea Filippo Scroppo, indice il Premio Torre Pellice 2023 il cui tema è RIABITARE LA TERRA, nel contesto del Festival di arti visive e musica Una Torre d’arte con sede a Torre Pellice.

TEMATICA DEL PREMIO
Riabitare la Terra
Il Premio Torre Pellice 2023 è incentrato sulla riflessione e sull’analisi delle relazioni tra la l’arte contemporanea e la sostenibilità di tipo ambientale e sociale in linea con gli obiettivi tracciati dall’Organizzazione delle Nazioni Unite nell’Agenda 2030 per lo sviluppo sostenibile.
Queste tematiche riguardano, tre le altre: il contrasto al cambiamento climatico, il rispetto della biodiversità, la riduzione delle diseguaglianze e delle discriminazioni, la promozione dell’uguaglianza di genere, il sostegno di un’educazione di qualità, il diritto al lavoro, la crescita economica, produzione e consumo equi, la trasformazione sostenibile di città e comunità, l’impegno per garantire pace e giustizia, la lotta alla povertà e l’eliminazione della fame.

Il premio ambisce a proporre narrazioni che tracciano scenari futuri in cui uno sviluppo sostenibile – meno antropocentrico, più consapevole e rispettoso dell’ambiente e della società umana – è ancora tutto da immaginare per riabitare la Terra con giusti-zia, democrazia e bellezza.
Il premio offre spazi di espressione alle voci di artisti ed artiste e stimola attraverso il ruolo dell’arte e della cultura la realizzazione concreta di un cambiamento sociale. La ricerca artistica assume così una funzione educativa, capace di sensibilizzare l’opinione pubblica ed informare la cittadinanza sulle problematiche attuali aiutando-la a formulare soluzioni creative ed alternative all’attuale crisi degli ecosistemi ambientali e sociali.

Il Premio, con cadenza biennale sarà orientato alla valorizzazione della creatività dei giovani artisti e artiste under 40
La mostra collettiva dei finalisti si terrà presso la Galleria Scroppo dal 24 settembre al 4 novembre 2023. La premiazione avverrà nel mese di ottobre 2023.
Per i 3 vincitori:
- l’assegnazione di premi in denaro
- la possibilità di strutturare nel 2024 una residenza artistica presso Stone Oven House, Rorà (TO) con il sostegno economico del Comune di Torre Pellice
- lo sviluppo di un progetto di mostra tripersonale promosso dalla Civica Galleria Scroppo di Torre Pellice nel 2024

The Municipality of Torre Pellice, in collaboration with the Scientific Committee of the Civica Galleria d’Arte Contemporanea Filippo Scroppo, announces the Torre Pellice 2023 Prize whose theme is REINHABIT THE EARTH, in the context of the visual arts and music festival A Tower of Art based in Torre Pellice.

THEME OF THE PRIZE

REINHABIT THE EARTH

The Torre Pellice 2023 Prize focuses on reflecting on and analyzing the relationship between contemporary art and environmental and social sustainability in line with the goals outlined by the United Nations in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

These themes include, among others: combating climate change, respecting biodiversity, reducing inequality and discrimination, promoting gender equality, supporting quality education, the right to work, economic growth, equitable production and consumption, the sustainable transformation of cities and communities, working to ensure peace and justice, combating poverty, and eliminating hunger.

The prize aspires to propose narratives that outline future scenarios in which sustainable development – less anthropocentric, more conscious and respectful of the environment and human society – is yet to be imagined in order to re-inhabit the Earth with justness, democracy and beauty.

The prize offers spaces for expression to the voices of male and female artists and stimulates through the role of art and culture the concrete realization of social change. Artistic research thus takes on an educational function, capable of raising public awareness and informing the citizenry about current issues by helping them formulate creative and alternative solutions to the current crisis in environmental and social ecosystems.

The Prize, held every two years, will be geared toward enhancing the creativity of young artists under 40

The group exhibition of finalists will be held at the Scroppo Gallery from September 24 to November 4, 2023. The award ceremony will take place in October 2023.

– the awarding of cash prizes

– the opportunity to structure an artistic residency in 2024 at Stone Oven House, Rorà (TO) with the financial support of the City of Torre Pellice
– the development of a tripersonal exhibition project promoted by the Civic Scroppo Gallery of Torre Pellice in 2024
